5am

Every morning I get up at 5am to take the first train at 5.35 to Stockholm to be at work by 7.00am. The only upside to getting up this ridiculously early is to see the sunrise over the water...well also to make use of the entire day.

Pretty huh? I love Nynäshamn!

Art Studio

My boyfriend has promised to help me set up a little studio where we are temporarily living this summer. I haven't had my own studio or even a little workspace in forever ever. I have been dreaming hardcore about how I would want it to look. I have seen so many pictures of other artist's work spaces...with there personalized inspiration boards and lots of containers full of pencils and pens and papers and shelves brimming with little personal quirky things and artworks. I look forward to have a home where I can have a real permanent studio. Some beautiful day this will be true....but for now it will be in the attic space of the car dealership where we are living (sounds luxurious I know) with a huge window with a rather gorgeous view of the ocean...even though there is a rather very ugly industrial port and parking lot in the view too....but I cancel that out.

Hmmm...some inspiration maybe.

My dream studio would of course have to be seperated from the main house in a sweet little mini cottage like this. On the back I would have huge windows to see the view of the ocean or a gorgeous green forest and also to let in lots of warm bright light to work easier. When I took a break from my artwork I would have lots of flower pots and plants outside my little cottage to tend to. I just adore the blue door on the traditional Falu red with white trim cottage. The flowering tree is also so romantic. I imagine the petals would fall to the little entrance creating a sweet welcoming mat where I could have a little bench.

On the inside I would have to have a huge inspiration board with cut outs from magazines and paper scraps and ribbons etc. The walls would be painted light pink or light turqoise or have pretty floral wallpaper...I can't deside. I would also have collage wall of mix matched frames with works from other artists I adore. I love the quirky chandelier too with birdies, flowers, butterflies and ribbons hanging from it.

If only...

Here are a few other very talented girl artists who draw bags and perfume bottles and sweet pretty things. I have major crushes on all of their work. Their talent may or maynot be greater than or equal to mine...hehe. See for your self, it is true.

Dang this girl can draw! Jenny Mörtsell. Soooo photo realistic. I adore her pencil portraits too a whole lot. I wish I could draw as skillfully as she does.

Jessica Gill also has a fun style. Her Chanel bottle might be better than mine. I love it!

Last but not least Little Doodles. Her work is super sweet. I love that she uses tiny little dots for shading...it must take forever and ever and ever. Besides fashiony items this girlie draws sweet little birdies with bow ties and cupcakes and other small things.

I have been working on some new drawings...like Champagne bottles and girly wrapping paper, and new perfume bottles. I haven't set up my scanner just yet but I will soon.

CHANEL N5 50x70

CHANEL N5 50x70, originally uploaded by emmakisstina.

I am really excited to announce that I now offer posters of my prints. 30cmx40cm and 50cmx70cm...both in my etsy shop.

Chanel N5 is my obvious favorite in large scale. I can see it in a super large format white glossy frame (or quite possibly a gaudy barock gold frame) with a thick white mat to match. It would look smashing being a statement piece taking over an entire wall. It could even hang over a gorgeous fireplace's mantle piece in an Upper East Side New York City apartment...or in your boudoir. I shall have to have one printed for myself, though I sadly have no apartment to hang it in at the moment. sigh.

Allow me to show you where I would feel my new poster would hang beautifully and feel just at home.

Here in this gorgeous living room it would match the delicious golden hues perfectly.

This is also fitting...but in the background on the left of the gorgeous fireplace with a simple white frame.

Oh and this space is just too gorgeous. I love the pink color of the wall and how large scale all the furniture is.

Loud & Quiet

I have been looking through all of the design and illustration work I have done lately trying to pick out the best ones for my online portfolio. I think the best work I have done is for my friends Camilla and Marie for their wonderful accessories line Loud & Quiet...best name ever! I heart them. Take a look.

My next project should no doubt be a Stockholm Series. Fashion in this city is very much it's own...very graphic, lots of black and white, simple but complex. Labels like Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair, and Dagmar, and Minimarket, and Acne of course.

Earlier this afternoon Johan and I took a long nice walk in the really gray humid air downtown in south Stockholm. We passed all the gorgeous packed coffee shops (Swedes love their 'fika' breaks...coffee breaks) and the sweet little second hand stores...just window shopping for course. Also tons of busy streets as well as quiet parks. It is nice living in a little city with rather a lot going on but with also many quiet corners. I love Stockholm.

Revamping of kristinahultkrantz.com

I am revamping my website with the technical help of my delicious and talented boyfriend. I am doing all the designing and prettiness and he is making sure that it is workable and professional and correct. I am really liking the new look. I have my favorite colors, pinks and blues together, and I think I found my new favorite font. It is girly and a little retro...looks like this.

I am in love with them. Just got to finish it up real soon so I can show everyone. Exciting!

I got fans...

Since I am no celebrity and just a regular girlie...it is really enjoyable to google my name or emmakisstina. Sometimes I find small gems. I seem to have created a small fan base for myself...which is super flattering and fun. I have found several bloggers who have declared their love for my work and shared this with the rest of their readers who also seem to agree. I already enjoy drawing my sweet illustrations but it is so much easier with fabulous feed back. My favorite find this week was Katie Armour who a few days ago posted about my illustrations...here. I really love her writing as well. It is girly but not too sugar sweet. She has a really gorgeous style sense too. I love classic posh chic NYC style.

I made a fancy shmany Facebook page for emmakisstina. Wonder if anyone likes me?
