Dreamy City of Angels

I have been on ETSY all day long! Working mostly but of course looking for new sellers. I am not much of a buyer...I love saving...but sometimes I find things that are just perfect. Like this photographer's work. SIXTH & MAIN. These are my favorites that I just had to have. I love how they are pink and glittery and full of really delicious light.

I have never even been to Los Angeles...but I sure would like to in the very nearest future. Seems like a whole other world.

ETSY shop rewritten!

I have taken all morning to pain-stakingly go through all of my ETSY listings and rewrite their then very boring descriptions. I have been working with my store for 3 years now so there were many inconsistencies and lack of love in many descriptions. Now they are written in the same style with all needed important information about size, packaging, etc. They are also all complete with quirky quotes and small history lessons about the image...gives them a little something extra special I think. Super cute and girly!

So please go and enjoy my new and improved listings.

The Sketch Cafe

When I was in London last I ate a yummy lunch at this interesting arty and gorgeously designed cafe located in the Royal Academy of Arts. If you are ever in passing you should definitely take a break and have a yummy cappuccino with a colorful macaroon or a salad of the day served in a fun white chinese take-away box...or just drop in to admire the gorgeous design. I love love love the books pasted on the wall with their bookmark ribbons hanging and all the pages fanned out. The eyeglasses chandelier is ridiculous...as well as the gorgeous hot magenta color of the wall (one of my absolute favoritest colors in the entire universe). I wish I had brought along my own camera to take lots of pictures... I guess I will just have to return to London real soon.

Stationary Preview

I have been working on sweet and girly stationary sets lately. I still adore snail mail...and I am sure others still do too.

Here is a preview of what my Vintage Telephone stationary set looks like...here without color. I can't wait to color them next week, I simply adore them. So exciting! These two are my favorites I think but I like all four. You can see the other two on my flickr.

I am also busy working on valentines and everyday valentines, tea party invitations, recipe cards for domestic goddesses...and of course more prints.

Sergio Rossi in Gouache

Sergio Rossi in Gouache, originally uploaded by Liz Conlon.

This artist, Liz Conlon, actually found me on flickr first, commenting about how much she likes my work. But I think her work is equally adorable, and thought I should share. This little gouache painting is my favorite. The yellow color is really interesting and finish is wonderful...they look like they are made of satin.

Works in Progress...

I am busy at work in my little studio...even though it is gorgeous weather outside...but I keep the windows wide open so at least I get a feeling of summer. A few personal projects I am working on for my little ETSY store at the moment are...really girly recipe cards suitable for a true Domestic Goddess, as well as super sweet stationary packs for girlies who are still in love with snail mail.

Just checking in.

One stylish lady.

, originally uploaded by .ultraviolett.

I discovered this gorgeous photo on flickr just now and had to share. I love the collage set up and how wonderfully all the random objects work together. I get a real feel for the style of this lady...very sophisticated and simple, and intelligent, and feminine, and really interesting. She likes to read and dream in a secret garden and jot poems and quiet thoughts down in her little notebook with her pretty yellow floral pen. She takes a long time to set up her perfect photos with lots of pretty atmospheric lighting by turning the various knobs of her vintage camera and flips through an indie magazine for inspiration.

My food blog!

Not only am I really interested in art, I am really really food obsessed. My boyfriend as well, possibly even more. We consider ourselves aspiring food and wine experts. I created a delicious food blog for our food and wine adventures awhile ago but am just now getting it filled with interesting goodies and gorgeousness. I am responsible for the recipe writing and Johan is responsible for the wine writing since that is his expertise. I do hope that you will hop over to see what we are up to in the kitchen.

So I introduce to you GRAFFEATI.

Vintage Toe Shoes with Dried Lavender

This is just gorgeous. I can imagine this image as a really large poster framed in a simple white frame hanging in the entrance to a ballet studio. I love how the lavender is sprinkled around the shoes.

My New Attic Studio

Who am I kidding? I live in Sweden...where one can't rely on weather reports. It is just not sunny when I want it to be. So here are some not so perfect photos of my new wonderful studio space with yucky rain clouds in the background.

CIMG7984
Here I have enough space to spread out and breath. I have huge windows to let in tons of light...which is perfect since there is no electricity up there. I also have space to have my little paintings and for storage of all of my inspiring magazines, books, and papers etc.
CIMG7994
Here I am besides some works in progress.

And this is my view. Not bad huh? The harbor is kind of interesting. Always lots of boats and larger ferries coming in and out. Lots of seagulls and cars passing by. Even though it is quite busy it is rather quiet, surprisingly. I have a little view of the ocean....which is nice. That huge dark rain cloud looks super mean though!

By the way...

My new little studio has been set up and I love it sooooo sooooo much. I have even had a few days to wear it in. I bought some stretched canvases and some new paints to get into painting again. I have even painted a few shaky strokes...it has been far too long. Feels as though I have lost my touch, geez. I haven't really made the space too personal since it is just temporary...I think but I seem to be able to get lots of work done, which is really wonderful since I will be trying to work fulltime on my art this summer as a test for this coming fall. Cross your fingers! It is so amazing having a studio again. Haven't had a real workspace since college. It is so quiet and I have tons of space to spread out in, and I don't really have to worry about making a mess like inside a tiny Stockholm apartment. No photos yet though. I have waited for a sunnier day to take some gorgeous photos to show it off as well as my new projects. Should be coming soon. It has been rather gray and rainy a few days. Yuck! But it should be better next week, hopefully! Who knows in Sweden where the weather changes every few hours.

Tomorrow my bf and I are off on a little boat to an island outside of Nynäshamn for a 30th birthday party with a Nautical theme. Shall be fun to be on the water, eat some great food and drink some yummy drinks, and spend the night in a sweet little summer cottage with friends. Might even take some photos...

More new illustrations. yay!

ETSY!!!

Nynäshamn

I love Nynäshamn where I live. It is just so gorgeous now in the summertime. Me and the BF take wonderful long bikerides by the water and take picnics and take lots of photos. These pictures were taken high up in an old lookout tower. We sat up here enjoying the view and perfect breezy summer weather and some citrus spongcake. yum!

New Work: Kurbits

It is about time a drew something Swedish! I should do a whole set of traditional Swedish things...like clogs and Dala horses and the such (coming soon). These shoes by Swedish fashion designer Åsa Westlund I have adored for a while now...I still don't own a pair of my own but I am saving up. I think the idea is just genius. Taking a traditional wooden clog and transforming it into something more high fashion by putting a high heel on it and a few more feminine touches, they are so gorgeous! It would be super difficult to choose which pair to get. I am torn most between the gray pair and the pink pair. Which one do you like?

Wiki taught me that Kurbits is a decorative form of painting traditional to the Dalarna region of northern Sweden which was most popular during the years 1780-1870...but is still painted by skilled painters today on hand crafted wooden Dala horses, cabinets, and clogs. This one's got a bit of a modern twist too!

images hunted on google. Prints available in my store!
