I'm a winner...

haha that sounded super lame...but it is true! I entered a little art giveaway The Gocco PikaPackage Giveaway (to be exact) on the amazingly inspiring illustration website PIKALAND and I actually won randomly. I have entered a few before but am glad that I won this one. I know very little about gocco printing and this will be a wonderful introduction and a great little contribution to my growning art collection. I am very excited. This news really brightened my day. I can't wait to see them for real!

2011, complete

I am the worst blogger ever. I have tons of time to write and am nearly always in front of the computer and yet I can't come up with anything interesting to post. My days have been full of drawing wonderful pictures for projects I am really excited about. Can't announce them until they're done of course...which should be soon. While drawing I have been enjoying tons of internet television. Lots of interior design shows and reality shows too I must admit.

My 2011 calendar is now drawn! So happy with how it turned out. Now I shall be on my way to my little studio in Nynäs to get them scanned into the computer and then start coloring in all the teeny tiny details. Going to take forever!

I will post sneek peeks really really soon.

Dreamy...

Found this gorgeous image on This is Glamorous. Soooo pretty I could just die. If I didn't have BF to consider while decorating I would love to have this dreamy, girly, romantic boudoir. I love the light lilac color, and all the gold colored mirrored surfaces and how the lighting is so soft. I also like the glimpse of wallpaper you seen in the front of the photo...wonder what pattern it is? hmm...

I am working on a 2011 Calendar! I want it to be in the same style as my Stationary sheets, because I thought they turned out super cute and I enjoyed drawing all the small details. I am having a bit of trouble coming up with themes for each month so I have looked up a few new wallpaper styles to be inspired by. Here are the 12 that I liked best.














Got to get this project done soon...tons of other artists have already gotten theirs done and posted in their stores. I think I shall make a deadline of October 1st! ekk. Back to drawing!

I just recolored my Birkin bag print. I thought it would look so much classier in a real warm tan color, and it does. I am really into warm pinks and browns lately rather than my cool blues of the past. It is a nice change. I wonder what my emmakisstina fans think?

Tomorrow I am going to be working in my studio all afternoon....been forever ever since I have sat there. Then I shall have dinner with my dear Aunt and go to the movies to see the ballet documentary La Danse. I think tomorrow is going to be a wonderful day!

I adore this artist. Her work is so moving and strong. I have followed her flickr stream for years. Her work deals very much with women and their emotions...her faces show soooo much emotion and variation with just a few perfectly placed small details. I think I have said this about a gagillion times this summer...but now I really mean it. Back to business! Summer is over, summer visitors have gone home, summer vacations and trips are done and none are planned for the nearest future. I need to get back into a better working scedule. I haven't drawn in my little studio in forever ever and I have a few new fun projects lined up and plenty that I have yet to finish. So since it is nearly half way through September (how did that happen so fast!) I need to crack down. I have set my normal alarm of 9am to 8am to start the day off a little earlier....I think that extra morning hour will be of a lot of help. Plus the BF is back in school again so he won't be such a wonderful distraction during my work days anylonger!

Oh and the photo you wonder! It was taken this past Saturday with my gorgeous little sister outside of an equally gorgeous Herrgård out in the countryside where we were at a kräftskiva (crayfish party...very Swedish!) I must confess my love for the 1700s soon. I have a few posts lined up. One about the very intriguing, talented and influencing Madame du Pompadour.

Our trip in pictures...it still feels unreal that we were even there!




























It was a dream week...the water was amazing, and each view was more gorgeous than the last, there were tons of sweet stray kitties taking naps in the shade, the island was super quiet and calm, and getting a last taste of summer before fall and a long winter really rejuvinated us...
