Couture Over Coffee

Today I woke up to find a wonderful conversation in my email. It really brightened my day. Beth at Couture Over Coffee wrote to say that she had posted about my work on her blog. I was delighted to find the most wonderfully nice words anyone has ever written about my work.

I really appreciate when people don't just look at the surface of my pretty images but acknowledge the
thought behind them.

Thanks again, Beth.

Queen Katie!

I know that I'm not the only one who got super excited to see and teeny little sneek peek into every one's favorite blogger and Magazine Editor Katie Armour. She is seriously Queen of new traditional style. Though this totally a tease one really gets a feel for her space and personal decorating style. I hope someone will do a huge feature of her home and doggies someday soon.

If you missed the interview you can find it here...

Love her. And I totally want to steal her navy gingham curtains!

Dream Balcony

I don't think I could think of anything more perfect.

New Drawings...

You can look forward to two new pretty prints in my shop. All I got to do is get them colored in! What do you think of my new drawings? I think they're pretty cute.

Meet Bows and Make-up...

Important Announcement!

spring photo by me

Starting on the 1st of May my Etsy prices will no longer be listed in dollars and shall now be listed in Swedish Kronor. This is due to awful exchange rates (why must the dollar be soooo weak?). I am forced to make this change for that reason... plus it is much easier for me to calculate earning and taxes when everything is in the same currency. Less calculation, more drawing time, we like!

If you Etsy Buyers don't already know, you can customize Etsy to show prices in your currency of choice. (All the way at the bottom of the page next to language settings) Therefore my prices will fluctuate as the exchange rates fluctuate. So you may see a jump in my prices somedays and somedays not. I feel a smidge bad about this so I promise to offer more packages, deals, and giveaways... to treat you all nicely since you are all so nice to me. (gosh, cheesy)

I collect taxes only on Swedish orders, 25% sales tax. (Note: Due to how Etsy is set up, taxes are added afterward at checkout, alltså moms och frakt tillkommer i varukorgen.)

Thanks so much for listening and hopefully understanding! If you have any questions please email me!

A mini Herb Garden...

During the long weekend we also found time to plant a mini herb garden on our balcony. I really do hope that these yummy little herbs will thrive in their new home, to make all my delicious dinners even more flavorful and fresh.

I'm not known for my green thumb, so here's hoping I can learn something this Spring and Summer about taking care of plants. Herbs seem to be a great start, relatively easy and low maintenance. I have already flipped through a few gardening books and blogs to get a few tips and some wonderful inspiration. Any day now I'm going to become an official gardening nerd, hehehe. I don't feel like being made fun of for my lack of green thumbs any longer. How is one to be an expert without experience? Let's give it a go.

We also picked up one small tomato plant and one chili plant which were also supposed to be rather easy to take care of on a small balcony. I'm already excited by their progress... see I really am a gardening nerd!

Lately I've also been super addicted to Jamie Oliver's wonderful food program 'Jamie at Home'. It's shot at his country home and he cooks with ingredients grown in his huge gorgeous organic garden. So incredibly jealous of his rustic old English home and his vast lush Cook's garden, and am a little (very) in love with his soft spoken gardener Brian. His recipes and style of cooking aren't too bad either. His relaxed, sloppy, flavorful, simple, rustic meals really appeal to me.

More Adventures!

We took our camera out on another photographic adventure, this time to another side of Torö, Örvudden. Here at the stony beach though the sun was still shining the space was wide open to chilling breezes from the still freezing ocean waters. (The water is only +6 celsius, burr, won't be swimming for awhile!)

I find it annoying that photos can't always capture how gorgeous a place is. But I hope you get the gist!

Are you a city girl or a nature girl? Personally I'm a bit of both, equally actually... or half and half.

Ankarudden...

Can there be anything more romantic than sitting on a warm stone and looking out towards water in the Spring sunshine? I think not. This weekend we explored Ankarudden, a small dock on the island of Torö.

Oh how I love being by the water. I adore the smell of salt water, the soothing constant crashing of waves, and the call of hungry Sea Gulls. I wish to live by the sea one day. I hope to have a tiny house with a view of the water just a few steps away so I can dip my toes into the chilly water.

My Easter

I hope you have all had a lovely Easter. Though I don't celebrate Easter traditionally I surely had a wonderfully relaxed super long 4 day weekend (one day to go, but I shall be working today, much much much to do), with long photographic walks, many yummy meal times, and a little too much sweets. I shared a few pretty pictures yesterday and here are a few more. Plus even more to come, yay! Who doesn't enjoy a holiday?!
