Red Coral Scarf and Pretty Ocean Things

Hello Tuesday!

It was really really really nice to have a long Easter weekend to relax in the Swedish countryside, eating lots of food. We also spent the majority of the holiday outside in the fresh Spring air, and it was wonderful. Thank goodness it is finally starting to warm up!

Today, I decided to take a few new photos of my Red Coral Silk scarf (find it in my Etsy shop here.) Since the scarf has a bit of a nautical theme I arranged it with a few seaside items, an oversized seashell jewelry box, a piece of driftwood and an oyster shell fitted with a pearly stone.

This is one of my personal favorite scarf designs as I adore matching it with a bright red lipstick, and it easily matches with much of my simple wardrobe.

EmmaKisstina Silk Scarves

It's Friday, woo hoo!

Building a mini foamcore photo studio was such a great idea. I don't know why I haven't thought of building something like this sooner. It has made photographing soooooo much easier since I struggle to get lighting right. I don't have any solid white surfaces in my home so it's been really difficult photographing my products. This helps me to take really bright photos even in my studio where I don't get really great sunlight. Oh and shocker, I'm even excited to photograph now.

Here I played around with my newest silk scarf design, Cherry Blossom Branches. I think it would look gorgeous knotted around your neck in a bow with a bright pink flush on the cheeks.

I have absolutely no plans for the weekend which is nice as well as being completely boring. Hopefully I get out of the house and at least do some neighborhood explore... maybe even go into town. Hope you all have a great weekend! See you next week.

Aqua

Hello Tuesday!

For my thirtieth birthday my parents wanted to treat me to something special and nice. I'm sure they were thinking jewelry but I'm not much of a jewelry girl. I hardly ever wear rings or necklaces, never bracelets, and prefer to wear simple studs on my ears only these days. So instead I asked for a pretty new everyday handbag because I knew it would be something I would really use more than on special occasions. I'm completely smitten with the bag that I fell for, this aqua green Kate Spade small cross over bag. It's the perfect size for just my phone, keys, mini wallet and a lipstick or two. I also adore the fun color. I think it's going to look so cute with all of my Spring jackets.

I'm also pretty tickled that it perfectly matches my EmmaKisstina Glamour silk scarf.

All Packed up and Ready to Go

As you all know (or at least I hope so) I got another shipment of scarves last week. Now all my designs are back in stock. woo hoo! This weekend I took the time to package them all up gorgeously.... with hang tags, limited edition number stickers, tissue paper wrapping, and a lovely wrap around matching info tag. I even finish each one with my signature!

A few behind the scenes photos perhaps?!

This is how they arrive from the English sewing factory. All ironed, perfectly sewn and folded.

I love their matching wrap around tags. My aunt came up with the idea. Smarty pants!

Wow that was exciting... just a little maybe.

Scarves!

I got my shipment of scarves today! yay! Now all of my scarves are back in stock, such a wonderful feeling. Both in my Etsy shop and on Meinto.se. (May even be popping up somewhere else real soon too, shmaybe ;) )

These three (Red Coral, Fuchsia Floral and Glamour) seem to have been the favorites of my first collection, they sold out really quick!

I'm so proud of all the great responses I got on the first collection! I already can't wait to launch the next collection (just have to get some more designs finished, eek, get to work Kristina!)

How to Tie a Scarf!

Right now I'm waiting for another batch of my scarfs to be finished. (They might be done next week already yay!) You may have noticed that half of my designs have been out of stock, though I do have a few of them left. Can't believe they sold out so quick, go me! I'm happy that I can stock my shops again soon (and shhmaybe other places too, hint hint) but I hate waiting!

While waiting I found the cutest video of how to tie a scarf, by The Girls with Glasses. They are just the goofiest cutest ever. Enjoy!

I'm still brainstorming what to do for the next collection. My long scarf designs haven't been popular at all. (I wonder why?) I need to come up with ideas for other formats and designs. So exciting, and a little daunting.

Cherry Blossom Branches, Ribbons and Pearls

Progress report: It's finished! I went a little drawing crazy last night and started as well as finished my second scarf design. I think it turned out gloriously... all I have to do now is erase the scribbly pencil lines and it will be ready to scan.

I'm really bad at stopping to take photos inbetween layers of work but this is what I did...

Cherry Blossoms, Ribbons and Pearls

I started with the branches and the little buds. Then added swirls of pearl strands.

Then I finished with tied ribbons, they almost resemble butterflies.

Since I was still super excited about drawing I decided to ink it in as well. Took all evening and lots of tv show watching!

Now it looks like this...

What a gorgeous tangle!

I love drawing slowly, deciding carefully which parts will over lap or left in the background.

I think my pearl circles turned out rather round. Pretty!

I can't wait to color it in with shades of rich corn blue and pretty pinks with highlights of white pearls and light green buds. Here's my inspiration if you missed my past post...

The ribbons are inspired by Japanese wishing trees. Pieces of paper with wishes are tied on to the branches like in this gorgeous photo. Such a romantic idea.

What ever shall I draw now?

From the beginning...

Today I feel like starting a new scarf. I've gotten loads of other work done this morning so time for some fun. I deserve it! I've got lots of favorite shows on the ready and I finally got a vision for a scarf... and I thought I'd let you in on what I'm thinking for this design from the beginning.

After seeing this photo via Pinterest I've been obsessed with the color scheme. I adore that corn blue color especially with the accents of dark pink and highlights of white. So a scarf in this scheme I must just do. But what to draw? Not much into having urns on my pretty scarves*... but those cherry blossom branches would be perfect. Lets start there and see where it takes me.

So now I'm going to go brew myself a huge cup of tea, get the shows rolling and start the drawing process. I've already gotten my big white square of paper on the ready. I'm so excited!

*Urns are creepy. What are you supposed to put in them? All I think of is ashes...

New Scarf Design!

I finished my first classic square scarf design for the next collection. It is supposed to represent another personal favorite 1700s iconic style maker, Madame du Pompadour. To give you a hint as to how it's gonna look... pink pink pink, frills, a little blue, pearls and gold. I think it's going to be lovely!

Got to get a start on a few other designs... but I'm kind of blocked as to what to draw. Hope this goes over soon.

Now it's time to meet up my delicious boyfriend in town, so we can go buy some yummy groceries for tonights romantic Saturday night dinner. Can't wait!

Hermes Freebies

Oh goodie!  Hermes gave us a little present! A few scarf designs to color in yourself. Thanks Claudia from Peep my Style for letting me know. Now I know where many useful hours will be wasted.
 Find them here....

The details in these designs are ridiculous. I think I could study them for hours and hours. They are so perfect!

Fellow Scarf Makers: Kelly

Happy Monday!

Another lovely illustrator has jumped on the silk scarf train... there really is a scarf revival going on. Loves it! This time it's Kelly Smith the super talented illustrator behind Birdy & Me illustrations with a collaboration with L'avion. Her photorealistic skill level is just ridiculously good and makes for a very interesting scarf... I love the flower border.

Oh how I love scarves!

I still got a few of mine left in the shop... hurry hurry ;)
